Your body doesn’t feel like a safe home. Your system fluctuates between any of these states:

🔹Fawn (people-pleasing, leaky boundaries, over-apologizing)
🔹Fight (over-working, perfectionism, self-criticism)
🔹Flight (constant pivoting, over-planning, avoidance)
🔹Hyper-independence (“I have to do everything alone”, “Needing help means I´m weak”)
Especially in relationships. Especially at work. Especially when something even mildly tense happens.
Your mind says: “I’m safe now”, but …
… your body hasn´t caught up yet
Sleep is shallow, restless, or haunted.
Your energy is unpredictable - in overdrive one moment, crashing the next.
Your nervous system stays on high alert, checking for threat even in
objectively safe environments or situations.
During conflict, your system doesn’t respond - it reacts:
you freeze, fawn, collapse, or go blank.
Later, you replay the moment endlessly, wishing you’d said or
done something different.
You might’ve tried traditional therapy. Maybe EMDR.
Maybe mindset work. You understand what happened.
And yet - your body is still stuck.
Because what you lived through didn’t just affect your thoughts or emotions.
It conditioned your nervous system on a physiological level.
When safety meant unpredictability
Growing up in narcissistic or toxic family dynamics meant safety was never predictable. Connection came with agenda
or invisible shackles. Love was conditional & transactional. Calm could turn into chaos at any moment & without warning. Your body adapted the only way it could - through trained survival responses.
🔹Hypervigilance became safety
🔹Self-denial became protection
🔹Bracing for danger became your normal
Now, even though the external situation has shifted, your nervous system is still wired for survival.
Elevated cortisol. Adrenal fatigue. Chronic tension. Digestive issues. Brain fog. Difficulty sleeping.
Cycles of anxiety followed by numbness or collapse.
These aren’t personal failures.
They’re adaptive patterns that outlasted the environment that shaped them.
Estrangement not only removes people, but also structure
Family estrangement, especially after long-term abuse, creates its own nervous-system challenge. The familiar (even if unsafe) relationship patterns & the structure that came with them disappeared - and your system is left without a reference point.
It has to learn a whole new definition of safety, connection & identity.
You might think:
🔹”I´m safe now, … but I´m still sensing threat.”
🔹“I have more peace, … but my body doesn’t feel peaceful.”
🔹“I’m free, … but I’m exhausted.”
This is because estrangement has removed the toxic surroundings -
but the cellular memory of abuse is still there.
Calm doesn’t arrive instantly. Your system needs rewiring & repatterning.
Dysregulation doesn’t just show up as “feelings.” It can mean overwhelm, all-or-nothing thinking or perfectionism.
It shapes your relationships, your ability to make decisions or set boundaries, your sense of self.
You learned safety as hyper-alertness.
Now, we re-learn it as regulation, presence & being internally anchored.
Not by pushing harder.
Not by talking about your trauma over & over.
But by teaching your body — slowly, gently & consistently — that it no longer has to live in survival mode,
but that its time for safety & peace has arrived. Let´s start integrating nervous system regulation, nourishment & subconscious re-patterning, so that peace is embodied, not just thought of.

Hi, I´m Lahela.
I’m a Quantum Mind Body Therapist®️, Holistic Health Coach & speaker who bridges neuroplasticity, holistic nutrition, trauma recovery, quantum healing, embodied transformation & my own lived experiences.
After a near-death experience in early childhood that resulted in quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, I was told I would always be limited. I was blind, used a wheelchair & carried profound emotional, narcissistic & sexual trauma.
Through years of deep, sacred work, physically, emotionally, energetically -
I transformed. Not just symptom relief. Rebirth.
From a wheelchair to walking.
From survival mode to sovereign joy.
From silence & shame to being a clear, unapologetic channel of divine truth & healing.
Today, I move through this world with independence, vitality, & purpose. But more than that, I live inside a frequency of
self-love & divine remembrance that I now help others reclaim.
